Founded in 1969, the Canadian Chinese Cultural Society of Montreal Inc. offers an annual scholarship to an undergraduate or graduate student majoring in Chinese Studies. Candidates must be Canadian citizens able to demonstrate financial need and registered as full time students in the third or fourth year of undergraduate studies or in a graduate program.
Applications must be sent to the Scholarship Committee of the Society each year in order to be eligible for consideration for the award for the following academic year. Each applicant should indicate his/her field of studies and plans for the future, as well as a need for financial assistance. The scholarship will be awarded at an official function of the Society during the month of September.
Established by the endowment of the late Professor Paul Hsiang to support scholarly research in traditional Chinese poetry, poetics and literature. Awarded by Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies upon the recommendation of the Department of East Asian Studies, on the basis of academic merit.
Established in 2003 by an anonymous gift in honour of Professor Paul T.K. Lin, the first Director of the Centre for East Asian Studies at McGill. Awarded by the Faculty of Arts on the recommendation of the Department of East Asian Studies to a student entering the Department's Master's or Ph.D. program. Preference shall be given to students from the People's Republic of China.
